Dancers of all ages and skill levels should be fully prepared for each and every class. Even at a young age, it is important for your dancer to have the necessary DANCE GEAR so that he or she can get the most out of the experience. Please take a look below to see what your dancer will need for his or her dance class each week. Dance attire can be found at DanceMax Dancewear on Canton Hwy (mention our name and receive a discount), Center Stage Dancewear in the Marietta Square, Dance Fashions Superstore on Alpharetta Hwy, certain Payless locations, and Wal-Mart and Target. If your dancer is enrolled in an upper level class, a specialty dance store is recommended for shoe and clothing variety. Dance Gear can also be purchased online through DiscountDanceSupply.com, or Amazon.com. It is recommended that if you purchase online that it is a brand that your dancer is used to as some brands are particular to wide or narrow feet as well as curvy or slimmer figures. Be sure to check item descriptions and reviews prior to online purchase.

Below is a list of the necessary Dress code that your dancer will need each week for class. Most of our dancers will not need all of these items. Dancers enrolled in a pre-k class that includes tap instruction will need black patent leather tap shoes. Shoes that have an elastic in the middle with holes for laces are preferred.
Dancers enrolled in a pre-k class that includes ballet instruction will need pink leather ballet shoes with a full sole on the bottom.
Boys enrolled in tap or ballet classes will need black lace up tap shoes and black leather ballet shoes.
Dancers (both boys and girls) enrolled in a class that includes hip hop instruction are required to have black and white low top converse or converse style hip hop shoes. Brand name shoes are not required, but should closely resemble the brand name.
Dancers (both boys and girls) enrolled in a class that includes jazz instruction will need tan slip on split sole jazz shoes.
Dancers enrolled in our Elite program will need pink leather split sole ballet shoes.
Dancers enrolled in our Elite program will need matte black Mary Jane tap shoes for a more mature look.
Dancers enrolled in any level class are free to wear any color or style leotard to express her own individual style. Dancers of all levels will be required at some point to have a black leotard and black tights for an informal performance setting. Dancers enrolled in our Elite program will be required to wear this "basic black" attire more frequently than participants in our mobile program.
Preschool and Elementary school level dancers should wear footed tights to prevent shoes from rubbing ankles, heels, and toes. Footless tights are not recommended. Any color tights are fine for weekly class.
DDC holds 2 in house performances each year: one in December for the holidays, and one in July at the end of Summer Camp. For each of these performances, your dancer will need to wear a black leotard and black tights. Your dancer can wear these to class on a regular basis as well.
Dancers enrolled in our Elite program are encouraged to wear convertible tights so they can have access to their bare feet while in dance class. There are times when we perform certain skills in our bare feet. Any color tights are fine for weekly class.
Boys enrolled in any level or genre of dance should wear comfortable pants they can dance and stretch in and a more form fitted shirt. Cargo pants/ shorts or jeans should not be worn as it restricts movement.
